The Tax group of the firm's Tax, Employment & Benefits Department, is seeking a New York based associate to advise clients on a variety of tax matters.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Associates in this position will work with various departments of the firm on a variety of tax matters and can expect to:
  • advise clients on the tax aspects of domestic and international merger & acquisition transactions, private investment fund investments and formations, and transactional and investment planning for public and private companies and tax-exempt organizations;
  • draft, analyze and negotiate tax aspects of documentation for private investment funds, including limited partnership and limited liability company agreements, offering documents and other fund documentation;
  • draft, analyze and negotiate tax aspects of documentation with respect to public or private mergers and acquisitions, financing, and other transactions; and
  • mentor and review the work of junior associates.

Required Skills/Abilities:
Qualified candidates must have 3 – 7 years of law firm experience working on complex U.S. and international tax law matters. Candidates should also have a proven ability to communicate effectively, be self-driven and able to work within a team and independently on various parts of transactions. A J.D. degree from an accredited law school and admission to practice in the state of New York, or eligibility to become admitted in that jurisdiction quickly, will also be required.

Compensation:
In accordance with New York's Pay Transparency Law, the anticipated pay range for this position is $260,000 - $420,000, which represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary range at the time of posting.
