Responsibilities and practice:
Dentons US LLP is seeking a mid-level associate to join our sophisticated and highly-regarded Construction practice. Applicants should have excellent academic credentials and 3-5 years of legal experience. The person hired for this position will work collaboratively with dedicated partners and associates on a variety of complex transactional and litigation matters, including work related to:
  • Construction Agreements (including use of AIA platform)
  • Development Agreements
  • Design Agreements
  • Construction Related Disputes (including defect and delay)

Expected responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Performing due diligence, general research and writing
  • Assisting with drafting and negotiations related to the development of real property
  • Contributing to the coordination and execution of a broad range of complex transactional matters relating to development and construction
  • Assisting with construction related disputes in arbitration and litigation
  • Generally supporting the practice as needed

Based on years of experience, Dentons associates may have a title of Associate, Managing Associate, or Senior Managing Associate. Position Requirements:
Personal skills/attributes:
  • Possesses outstanding oral and written communication skills
  • Has strong interpersonal skills
  • Is comfortable managing multiple workloads and can prioritize work effectively
  • Values teamwork and working in a collaborative environment

Technical skills:
  • 3-5 years of commercial real estate transactional experience is required
  • Previous law firm experience is preferred
  • Construction experience is a plus
