The Denver office of BakerHostetler has an exciting opportunity for a mid-level associate (3-5 years of experience) to join its Energy Team and work with a dedicated multidisciplinary practice team of 80 attorneys. This Chambers-ranked team has been recognized by the Legal 500 United States, U.S. News Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms”, and named as Energy Group of the Year by Law360.
The associate's practice will focus on commercial litigation, regulatory matters, and advising on day-to-day business operations. Typical matters often involve the energy industry, including oil and gas development on federal lands, federal and private oil and gas royalties, midstream disputes, and hazardous materials transportation and compliance. The position will also involve matters relating to environmental law, real estate, and general business litigation.
Qualifications include:
3 -5 years of litigation and/or regulatory experience in a highly regarded law firm;
Highly effective and detail-oriented writing and oral communication skills, excellent research skills;
Superior academic credentials;
Admission to practice law in Colorado.
Ideal Candidates Will Have Demonstrated the Following Attributes:
Federal or State Supreme Court Clerkship;
Experience with public lands issues and federal and state environmental review processes;
Knowledge of and/or experience in the energy industry;
Strong leadership skills;
Business development acumen;
Keen attention to detail.
Location:
This position is located in Denver, Colorado.
Salary:
The expected annual salary for this position ranges from $220k - $234k. The salary offered will be determined by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, experience level, education/training, and relevant skills. Associates also participate in a performance and hours-based bonus program.
