Steptoe LLP seeks a 2nd to 3rd year associate to join our International Trade team within the International Trade and Regulatory Compliance practice group in our Washington, DC office. The ideal candidate will have experience working on trade remedy matters (e.g., antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings) before the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. International Trade Commission, as well as experience on related trade remedy, trade policy and supply chain matters (e.g., Section 232, Section 301, U.S.-China, UFLPA, etc.) Experience in international trade compliance matters (e.g., economic sanctions and export controls) is also desirable.

Candidates must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, a good understanding of the relevant legal and policy environment with respect to international trade remedy and policy issues, persuasive writing abilities, an ability to work well under pressure, and a willingness to travel internationally. Candidates with quantitative capabilities, an accounting and/or economics background, and facility with Excel, are preferred. A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school as well as active membership and standing in the District of Columbia Bar is required. The anticipated base salary range for this position is $235,000 to $260,000 The actual base salary offered will be dependent upon the applicant's experience and qualifications, as well as other job-related factors, including but not limited to, relevant skills, education, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, geographic location.
