Lippes Mathias LLP seeks an ambitious, detail-oriented attorney with two to seven years of experience for an Associate position with the Government & Corporate Investigations team in our Saratoga Springs, NY office. This position provides the successful candidate with an exceptional opportunity to work in a dynamic practice group focused on regulatory compliance, administrative proceedings, and investigations involving highly regulated sectors, including the gaming and casino sector and lobbying and government ethics compliance. The practice also includes civil litigation and defense of white-collar criminal matters and representation of clients in high-profile cases, often with a political bent or government policy backdrop. The practice group includes a former elected NY Attorney General, personal counsel to a US Cabinet Secretary, the Erie County District Attorney, Executive Director of the NYS Ethics Commission, former Assistant District Attorneys, Assistant Attorneys General, and Assistant United States Attorneys. In addition to representing clients in state and federal court, in both civil and criminal cases, the practice includes representation of clients in inquiries by local, state, and federal agencies, including the NY Attorney General, NY Office of the Inspector General, NYS Gaming Commission, United States Department of Justice, district attorneys, and agencies in the energy, healthcare, and environmental sectors.

Strong communication and legal advocacy skills, writing and research skills, and organizational skills, particularly surrounding sensitive documents, are required. Experience as a state or local prosecutor or civil litigation attorney is a plus but not required.

Excellent analytical skills and verbal and written communication skills are required. The attorney selected for this position must be a self-starter. The successful candidate will be exposed to client-facing opportunities, intellectually challenging assignments, and mentor-mentee opportunities with skilled practitioners across the practice group.

A New York bar license is required.

Salary range DOE: $105,000-$140,000/year

The pay range provided in this listing is a good faith estimate for this position based on the location that we are hiring for. Criteria included but not limited to, skill level, education, and experience, will determine where a candidate falls within the range.
